Which venues do you manage on the Lincoln Center campus?

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. manages two concert halls - David Geffen Hall and Alice Tully Hall - as well as the David Rubenstein Atrium, Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse, and all outdoor event spaces on the Lincoln Center campus.

How do I inquire about a date or venue?

What kinds of events can Lincoln Center accommodate?

Our venues are well-suited to a wide variety of events including but not limited to:

What is Lincoln Center’s policy on placing holds on dates?

We may as a courtesy hold your date of interest for up to three weeks. Once the three week deadline concludes, we will ask you to confirm or release your hold. If you wish to confirm your date, a nonrefundable deposit equivalent to the venue rental fee is required along with your signed contract, and a certificate of insurance.

How far in advance do you book your venues?

Our books open in February for the following Fiscal Year (July 1-June 30).

We book our venues on a first-come, first-served basis.

How can I arrange a site visit of the venue(s) in which I am interested?

Site visits are available by appointment only, at least four business days in advance. Depending on the availability of the venue(s) in which you are interested, we schedule visits Monday through Thursday, 10am–6pm.

Can my indoor event have an outdoor component?

Yes, many of our indoor venues have outdoor features such as balconies or ancillary areas that can be tented. The Lincoln Center team will work with you to discuss your event vision and to determine whether or not the campus can accommodate the proposed outdoor elements. Given Lincoln Center’s complex calendar of events, these requests are subject to availability.

Do your venues feature WiFi access?

All of our venues feature free WiFi network access. Should your event have expanded technical needs, we will provide a direct introduction to Lincoln Center’s IT Department.

How much will my event/performance cost?

Once you have discussed the details of your event with a Venue Sales representative, we can share a preliminary range of costs with you. The more details you are able to provide, the more precise the range will be.

Estimated event costs are comprised of venue rental fees, labor and personnel costs, as well as any additional costs that might be incurred due to the size and scale of the event.

Does Lincoln Center provide an event planner?

No. Lincoln Center management will help you realize your event but we are unable to take on a conceptual or creative role.

What staffing is not supplied by Lincoln Center?

Lincoln Center management will work with you to identify the positions for which we will not supply staff. These positions include (but are not limited to) a stage manager, technical director, florists, videographers, lighting, and sound designers.

Although Lincoln Center does not provide catering services, we have exclusive caterers onsite and can provide introductions at any time.

Is my rental fee tax deductible?

No, the rental fee and any additional charges paid in connection with an event held in any of our venues are not tax deductible. Such payments are not considered charitable contributions.

What marketing and promotional resources does Lincoln Center extend?

All renters of Lincoln Center venues are responsible for promoting and publicizing their own events. However, there are several complimentary benefits included in the rental of our venues. Upon request, we can provide you with a marketing services rate card.

Is a deposit required? Is my deposit refundable?

If you wish to confirm your date, a nonrefundable deposit equivalent to the venue rental fee is required along with your signed contract, and a certificate of insurance.

Will I be required to sign a contract and to supply insurance?

Yes. If you wish to confirm your date, a nonrefundable deposit equivalent to the venue rental fee is required along with your signed contract and a certificate of insurance (COI).

Do I need permission to film at Lincoln Center?

Yes, Lincoln Center requires a permit for any video and photography shoots that take place on the Lincoln Center campus.

For more information and to obtain a contract, please submit an inquiry or email the Venue Sales team at [email protected] We'll need to know the intended date of your shoot (at least 10 business days out), the desired location(s) on the Lincoln Center campus, an equipment list, the size of your crew, and the intended use of the footage to assess feasibility and preliminary costs.

Do you have any exclusive vendors, including caterers?

Yes, our venues feature premier, exclusive caterers. CxRA (Catering by Restaurant Associates) is the exclusive caterer for David Geffen Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse. In the David Rubenstein Atrium, we work with a select group of caterers.

Catering and/or additional furniture rentals are contracted and invoiced outside of Lincoln Center.

Do your caterers offer a kosher catering option?

Please connect directly with Catering by Restaurant Associates to discuss your catering menu needs. In the David Rubenstein Atrium, you may bring in the caterer of your choice, subject to Lincoln Center approval.

Does Lincoln Center have an approved list of recommended vendors (A/V, floral, or event designers/planners, e.g.)?

Aside from our caterers and the A/V vendor who provides production oversight in the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse, we do not have exclusive vendors. On a case-by-case basis, Lincoln Center management can make vendor recommendations.
